The Froskepôllemolen was built in 1896 to serve the Huizumer and Goutumer Nieuwland polders. The mill was moved in 1962, to make room for an expanding industrial area. Today, the mill stands on the Froskepolle Island recreational area. The mill was decommissioned in 1987. The Froskepôllemolen is now owned by Leeuwarden County, and is open to the public. Tours are available upon request.
