The De Wichers Mill is a relatively modern mill in the town of Ijsselham. The polders where the mill stands were once full of small watermills, and small corn mills known as ’boerenmolens’. In the 1920s most of these mills were closed down, and by 1943 there were no active mills on the Ijsselham polders. In 1980 the ’Friends of the Weerribben’ foundation was formed, and they restored this mill, and opened it to the public. The mill is open to visitors on selected days during the summer.
