The De Hoop Mill was built in 1902, to replace an older wooden corn mill that had been destroyed in a fire. The De Hoop Mill was built using parts salvaged from a decommissioned mill in the Zaanstreek area. The mill has been owned by John Jansen and Ingrid Friesema since 1975, and is currently used to produce feed for animals. Extensive restoration work was carried out on the hood and the sails in 2006. The mill is open to the public on Saturday afternoons.
