The ’De Hoop’, or ’The Hope’ mill is a corn an oil mill located on Woldweg in the town of Kropswolde. The mill was built in 1923 by the mill-maker Hazenberg, replacing a much older windmill that had fallen into a state of disrepair. In 1945 this mill was decommissioned, and stood idle until 1979, when a two-year long restoration project was started. Today, the mill produces flour and cereal, and is open to the public four days a week.
