The Boomsma museum and visitor centre is located in the centre of Leeuwarden. The museum explains how a distillery works, and takes visitors back to the 1930s to reveal the traditional process used by the Boomsma family to make the herb-flavoured gin that is a regional speciality. The museum displays a number of items used in the distilling process, including vessels, fill machines and a ‘nosing turntable’. There is also a tasting room where you can sample some of the gin yourself.
