The Achthovense Mill is an historic water mill located on Ruigekade in the town of Leiderdorp. The mill was built in 1893 to serve the 415 hectare Achthoven polder. The mill is now owned by the Rhineland Mill Foundation. The Achtovense Mill was briefly closed for repairs in 1959, when a break in one of the shafts was discovered. The Achthovense Mill is still in use today, and is open to the public. Appointments are available for guided tours of the mill.
