The Zuid Kennemerland National Park is managed by the Natuurmonumenten association, responsible for the conservation of Dutch natural heritage. The park covers around 2500 hectares, and includes some fine examples of coastal sand dunes, including Duin en Kruidberg and de Kennemerduinen. The Natuurmonumenten organisation are gradually developing a mixed woodland area around the dunes, and a wide variety of plant life grows in the park. There are also many birds breeding and making their homes here.
