The Windmotor Giethoorn is a relatively modern watermill located to the south of Maalensteeg in the town of Giethoorn. The mill uses a design known as the U.S. Wind Engine, which was popular during the first half of the 20th century, and is a very common sight in the Friesland region, as well as the Overijssel region. The Windmotor Giethoorn is still in use today, and is not currently open to the public.
