The Windmotor 2 in Earnewâld is one of several modern water mills in the town. This particular mill serves the Hooidamsloot. The mill was built early in the 20th century, to a design known as the U.S. Wind Engine. This particular design was very popular in the 1920s, and is still a common sight in the Friesland region. The Windmotor 2 is still in use today, and is not generally open to the public.
