The Westfries Museum in Hoorn is a museum devoted to the history of the twon and the surrounding West Friesland area. The building complex dates back to 1632, and originally served as the meeting place for the governments of the West Fries states. Many of the rooms have retained their period decorations, and there are a variety of items on display including works of art, group portraits of the Civic Guard, curiosity cabinets, porcelain, and silverware.
