The Weaving Musuem in Geldrop is housed in a former textile factory on the banks of the river Dommel. The factory was originally built in 1874, and was powered by a waterwheel. The waterwheel fell into disuse in the 1920s, when a hydroelectric plant was built nearby to supply the area with power. The factory was restored in the year 2000. The museum has a range of displays including information on classic weaving techniques and traditional fabrics.
