The Volmolen is a historic water mill town of Epen-Plaat. It was originally used to process materials for the making of woolen cloth, but was converted to a corn mill in the late 19th century. The mill was severely damaged during a fire in 1973. At the time of the fire, the Mayor of the town had been developing plans to restore the mill, and the damage caused by the fire led to the plans being accelerated. The mill was restored in 1975. Tours of the mill are available by appointment only.
