The Vogelhoeksmolen was built in 1855 on the southern bank of the river Morra, to the north of Hemelum. The mill was closed down in 1947, and stood idle for more than 20 years before it was dismantled and transported to the town of Adorp for restoration. In 1984, the mill was rebuilt in the town of Enkhuizen, where it is used to manage the water levels of the ponds in the area of the Buitenmuseum.
