The Young Sophia Mill is a unique corn mill in the town of Groot Ammers. It was built in 1773 in between two villages, Ottoland and Goudriaan, and was used by both those villages. The mill almost faced demolition in 1999, but was saved by a group of volunteers who petitioned the government to save the mill. The mill was dismantled and moved to Groot Ammers, where it was rebuilt, and restored to working order. Tours of the mill are available on request.
