The Waag (Weighing House) in Gouda is a large building which dates back to 1668 and is considered an important part of the town and its history. The exhibition inside tells visitors everything they could possibly want to know about cheese and how it is manufactured, from the grazing cow through to milk, then cheese. Visitors are given the chance to taste the final product. The museum also explains the role of Gouda as a centre for Dutch dairy production.
