The Veer Mill was built in 1701 to serve the original 144 hectare Veerpolder. In recent years, the polder has been reduced to in size to 90 hectares. The original mill was destroyed by a fire in 1998, but was completely rebuilt in 2002 with help from the Spaarnwoude Mill Foundation. The Veer Mill is still in use today and is open every Sunday during the summer months, as well as on certain public holidays.
