The Unicorn Millwas built in 1770, and was in use as a saw mill until 1924. In 1927 the mill was bought by the Dutch Mill Association, who maintained the mill until 1963, when it was bought by the town of Haarlem. The town carried out a lot of restoration work on the mill, and since 1984, The Unicorn Mill has been ran on a voluntary basis with the aid of the local Mill Foundation, and is open to the public every Saturday.
