The Oegekloostermolen was built in 1830 to serve the Hartwerd-West Polder. The mill was in active use until 1989. The Oegekloostermolen was bought by the Dutch Mill Foundation of Amsterdam in 1981, and was restored in 1986. Ownership of the mill was transferred to the Fryske Mill Foundation in 1988. The Oegkloostermolen is in good condition, and is open to the public. Guided tours of the mill are available upon request.
