The Lastdrager Mill was built in the early 17th century as a corn mill. Over the years the wind profile of the mill has seriously declined as built up urban areas have appeared on the western side of the village, near the mill. The Lastdrager mill was decommissioned in 1935, and was purchased by the town of Hoogwoud in 1968. The town began a major restoration project in the early 1970s. Tours of the mill are available by appointment only.
