The Helper Mill was built in 1863 by Patrick Medendorp from Zuidlaren. It is a large wooden polder mill with a flight of 19.5 metres. The mill was originally owned by the Helpman Waterboard, and was used to drain the nearby 356 hectare polder until 1956. In 1969, the mill was dismantled, and moved to its current location. The mill is now used as a training facility for apprentice millers. The Helper Mill is open to the public on Sundays, with appointments available for visits other days.
