The Havelte Mill was built in 1914, to replace an older mill that had been struck by lightning, and consequently destroyed, earlier that year. The Havelte Mill was built by The Count of Zwolle, who was a mill-maker by trade. The mill is now owned by the Havelter Mill Foundation, who have carried out a lot of restoration work over the past few years. The Havelter Mill is open to the public on Saturdays.
