The Grosmolen is an historic polder mill located on Doespolderweg in the town of Hoogmade. The mill was built in 1640 to serve the 65 hectare Voorafsche polder. The mill was used in addition to a smaller ’wipmolen’ which had been unable to meet the demands of the polder. In 1961, the Rhineland Mill Foundation bought the Gosmolen. The mill has been recently restored, and is open to the public. Guided tours of the Grosmolen mill can be arranged upon request.
