The Future Mill was built in 1862 by the carpenter Petrus Josephus van Loon. When he died in 1883, the mill was given to his second wife, Dingena of Leijenburgh, and their five children. The mill is still owned by the Van Loon family today, and can regularly be seen in operation. The Future corn mill is open to the public every Saturday morning, and tours can usually be arranged for other days by appointment.
