The Fortune mill is a beautiful corn mill located on the ramparts of the old town in Hattem. The first record of a mill on the site is in the early 16th century, but the mill that stands there now was built in 1816. In 1967, the mill was bought by the town, and in 1971 the first of three restoration projects began. The mill is in working order, and is used to produce cattle feed, and flour for bakery demonstrations at the Hattemse bakery museum. The mill is open to visitors every Saturday.
