The Five Gebroeders is an historic corn mill located near the railway line to the west of the village of Heinkenszand. The mill was originally called ’The Three Gebroeders’, and was built in 1851 by J. M. Raas for the farmer A. H. Vermue. The mill is in a very poor condition, and is now owned by the Five Gebroeders Foundation. The foundation spent several years raising funds to restore the mill. The restoration work began in 2004, and is expected to cost more than $700,000 to complete.
