The Eendracht Mill was originally built in 1877 in the town of New Buinen, by mill-maker H. Wiertsema of Scheemda. In 1904, the mill was moved to its new location in Gieterveen and rebuilt. The Eendracht is a traditional corn mill, and is currently owned by the Canberra Mill Foundation. The mill has been idle since 1994, although there is an ongoing restoration project, and it is hoped that the mill will be returned to working order soon.
