The Dolhuys is a museum devoted to psychiatry. One in five Dutch people are affected by some form of mental condition – be it depression, or Alzheimer’s. The museum aims to raise awareness of mental problems, and looks at madness and psychiatric problems – see how madmen and lunatics were dealt with centuries ago, and consider the boundaries between craziness and normality. Learn about the prejudice that people with psychiatric problems face, and meet ’madmen’ through the interactive displays.
