The Bird, or ’Burd’ is a historic polder mill located on Burd in the town of Grou. The mill was built in the 18th century to serve a polder of the same name. The Burd polder was a relatively small plot of land which was home to a farm ran by the Groot Jetsma family. The mill is now owned by the Lege Midden Polder Mill Foundation. In 2005, the mill was dismantled and re-built as part of a major restoration project.
