The Stadhuis, or Town Hall in Enkhuizen is located near to the Zuiderkerk, It is a classic seventeenth century building, with an elegant, Neo-classical facade. It is still used by the city council even today. The building is incredibly well preserved both inside and out. The interior is richly decorated, with many wall paintings and tapestries which date back to the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The walls of the council chamber are lined with Utrecht velvet, and there a small museum hosted on the second floor.
