The St Vitus Church has been a part of the Hilversum community for more than 100 years, serving as a monument and a place of worship for both residents and visitors of the ’t Gooi. The church is currently undergoing restoration. The tower is closed to visitors while work is done to make it safe, and restore the bells to working order. It is expected that the restoration work will be completed by 2010.
