St Bavo’s Church is also known as the Grote Kerk (Great Church). Construction began in 1445, under the direction of Evert Spoorwater, Antwerp’s city architect, and the building was completed by 1520. There are free concerts on a Tuesday and Thursday during the months of April through to October. The concerts give visitors the chance to hear the famous Christian Müller Organ, which was constructed in 1738, and was played by Mozart in 1766, when he was just 10 years old.
