The Speeltoren in Edam is an elegant 15th century tower. It was once a part of the old Church of Our Lady – the second most important medieval church in the town, but the church has long since been destroyed. The tower features the oldest carillon in the Netherlands, dating back to 1560. It is located not far from the Kaasmarkt (cheese market) in the town, and is also quite close to the Kwakelbrug bridge.
