The seal sanctuary in Pieterburen provides care for sick, injured and weak seals. They are taken in and nursed back to health before being released back into the wild. Visitors can meet the seals, and take a look in the kitchen to see what the seals are fed. There is also a visitor’s centre which includes exhibitions and films about seals, along with educational information and a play area for young children. The sanctuary is open to visitors all year round.
