The Schrikmolen , or ’Terror Mill’ is a relatively modern windmill located in the centre of the town of Genderen. The mill was built in 1917, and was originally used to drain the floodplains of the Ballina Maas. The Schrickmolen was built to an unusual U.S. design. The mill was decommissioned in 2007, and is currently undergoing extensive restoration work. It is expected that the mill will be put back into service in 2009.
