The Bruggen van het acces Rijnlanderweg over Voor- en Achterkanaal is a part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. The Bridge is a UNESCO protected monument, and is one of several is one of several in the town. The defence line spans more than 130KM, and took four decades to build. The defence line is the only fortification in the world that uses water to achieve its goal, and is a testament to the ingenuity of the Dutch people.
