The Raadhuis, or Town Hall in Hilversum is noteable as one of the most interesting works of the architect Willem Marinus Dudock, The building dates from around 1931, and features a deceptively simple design, with long, slim bricks rising up to a clock tower, and a very linear, plain internal design. Everything in the building has retained a feeling of his influence, even down to the lighting and the ashtrays. Willem M. Dudock worked on several other buildings in the town before his death in 1974.
