The provincial archive is located in a former orphanage. The building dates back to the late 1800s, and much of the interior remains intact – the living rooms are still decorated to the original design and with the original furniture. The archive collects and preserves information on the heritage of the province of North Holland, including family history information, and displays on the history of towns within the province.
