The Nieuw Kerk, or New Church, in Haarlem was designed by Lieven de Key in the mid 17th century. It is a protestant church, and was built on the site of the former St. Anna Church, of which only the tower remains. The building has a Renaissance appearance, considered quite typical of Lieven de Key’s work, with the design having many symbolic references to the temple of Jerusalem. The church is considered one of de Key’s and Van Campen’s best works.
