The Museum Van Twintigste Eeuw was opened in 1994 and is located in two former cheese warehouses by the harbour of Hoorn. The museum is devoted to the developments that were made throughout the 20th century, and serves as a nostalgic journey for those old enough to have lived through them, and a fascinating education for children. The museum also features a scale model of Hoorn as it would have looked in 1650, which is used as part of a show to explain Hoorns role in the history of the Dutch East India Company.
