The Museum of Sculptures by the Sea, or “Museum Beelden Aan Zee” is an oasis of tranquility inside one of the busiest tourist areas of the country. The museum was built around an old pavilion in 1826 by King William I, and is located just 200 metres away from the Kurhaus on the Scheveningen Boulevard. There are numerous sculptures to be seen, made from bronze and stone, depicting mankind in a range of moods and actions.
