The Museum Meermanno is housed in a 19th century town house with a formal garden. The museum holds the collection of Baron W. van Westrenen and his second cousin Johan Meerman, who lived in the house during the 19th century. The collection includes rare medieval manuscripts, and early samples of printed books, along with a selection of artifacts from ancient Egypt, Rome, and Greece. The garden house holds temporary exhibitions on the subject of typography and the printing process.
