The Madurodam is a miniature city, sprawling over a 25,000 square metre area in the Scheveningse Bosjes (Scheveningen Woods). The Madurodam replicates typical Dutch landscapes and famous landscapes on a 1:25 scale. The entire city is fully function with miniature trains travelling around the city, ships sailing, and plains taxiing down runways. There is a town fair in progress, and, when nightfall comes, 50,000 street-lamps light up. If you don’t have time to visit all of Holland proper, then take in the sights of the miniature version, it is the most realistic substitute ever.
