The Linie Liebrug-Liede en nevenbatterij is a military building that is a part of the defence line which was constructed over a period of several decades spanning the end of the 19th century, and the beginning of the 20th century. The defence line surrounds Amsterdam, and consists of several forts, batteries, and canals. It was used to flood strategic areas in times of war, and to keep them dry and safe in times of peace.
