Kunstlicht in de Kunst is a museum focussing on artificial light and the way it affects its surroundings. The museum is housed in a factory that was built in 1869, and bought by Mr. Gerard Phillips in 1891. Phillips used the factory to make carbon filament lamps. The building was made available for use as a museum by Philips Lighting in 2001, and the building now houses a collection of over 600 objects including lightsculptures, paintings, pastels, gouaches, prints, and posters.
