The Kasteelmolen is a historic water mill located on Maasberg in the town of Elsloo. The town has had a water mill for several centuries. Originally, the mill belonged to the ’House of Elsloon’ – the castle owned by the Lords of Elsloo. The mill has had several owners. The last people to use the mill for commercial purposes were the Lenssen family. When Frans Lenssen died in 1919, his widow continued to run the mill, but was forced to close it down in 1924 because of competition from a neighbouring mill. Today, the mill is ran on a voluntary basis. The Kasteelmolen opening times are listed on the mill web site.
