The Kaatsmuseum in Franeker is devoted to the most popular sport in Frieslend, Kaatsen. The sport is also known as ‘Frisian Tennis’ and is played in over 50 countries around the world. The Camminghastins, where the museum is now located, is an old building, dating back to medieval times. The museum opened in 1972, and moved to its current location in 1995. The museum traces the history of the sport and houses a large collection of prizes and items related to the game.
