The Synagogue on Prinsestraat in Enschede also serves as a centre for Jewish History and Culture. The Synagogue was designed in an oriental style by the famous Dutch architect K. P. C. de Bazel. It was constructed in 1928, and opened to serve a Jewish community of over 1200. Today, over 75 years later, the Synagogue is still open, but serves all visitors as a place to learn about Jewish life. The Synagogue opens twice a week, it is best to call in advance to confirm days and times.
