The Photography Museum, (or Fotomuseum) in The Hague is located in the same complex as the GEM Museum. The Photography museum was opened in 2002, and typically holds four topical exhibitions each year featuring a mixture of well known photographers and relatively unknown names. The museum also works with the University of Leiden, which possesses one of the largest historical photograph collections in Europe. In between exhibitions, the museum displays photographs from the neighbouring GEM Museum’s permanent collection.
