The Gemeentemuseum Den Haag is one of the largest museums in the town. It was designed by Hendrik Petrus Berlage, and finally completed in 1935. The building itself is interesting enough from an architectural standpoint, and the inside offers a large permanent collection of items along with a huge number of temporary exhibitions. Collections in the museum cover a variety of topics from fashion to decorative arts, pottery, and modern art. Painters from a number of schools and nationalities are represented in the museum’s collection.
