The Gelkenes Mill in Groot Ammers is a beautiful and historic polder mill. The year of construction is not known, although it is thought that the mill dates back to the late 16th century. The design of the mill is quite unusual, with iron having been used quite extensively, even in parts that would typically be wooden or stone. Some major restoration work was performed in 1980. The current miller is Antoine Walsemann. The mill is open to the public.
